John McCarthy, founder of MadPride passed away yesterday after a brave battle with motor neurone disease.
John worked tirelessly to end the stigma of “madness”. Known to each other as “the enemy”, John and I had totally different way of approaching social change–as witnessed by many at Social Entrepreneurs Ireland
Although we disagreed on the path, we were both passionate about the human rights of people with mental illness and disability.
