NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Several churches in New York City paid tribute to Trayvon Martin during Sunday services.
Wearing hoodies in honor of the Florida teen, hundreds at the Middle Collegiate Church in the East Village voiced their concern and anger. Many said they believe it may have been racially motivated.
“Trayvon is emblematic. He could be any mother’s child,” said Joel Janka of Crown Heights. “It’s our collective duty to stand up and voice our concern.”
